IDEA 2021 entry deadline extended!

IDEA 2021 entry deadline extended!

Share

We all leave things to the last minute, right? Which is why the IDEA 2021 entry deadline has been extended to 25 June. That gives you an extra two weeks to get your entry in!

IDEA entries were due to close tomorrow, but we’ve spoken to a lot of architects and interior designers who just need a little extra time to get everything together.

The new deadline for entries is midnight AEST on Friday 25 June 2021.

Enter IDEA now.

Don’t forget that this year, IDEA is open to all projects completed between January 2020 and July 2021!

We’ve also added a new feature to the online submissions platform. If you’re struggling to get your photography in on time, simply do as much as you can, pay and email us the photos later.

This means you won’t miss out on entering your project into IDEA 2021. Drop us a line if you want to discuss.

Now in its 19th year, IDEA is Australia’s oldest independent architecture and interior design award, showcasing incredible projects and products from across the country alongside the amazing studios and people that are behind them.

Despite everything that has happened in the past 12 months, we’re still committed to celebrating and promoting the best in Australian design and the projects you have proudly completed over the last year and a half.

Seven industry legends have offered up their expertise and their time to be judges.

This year, you’ll be showing off your projects to Genesin Studio’s Ryan Genesin, Hassell principal Domino Risch, Flack Studio’s David Flack, Hare + Klein (and IDEA 2020 Gold Medallist)’s Meryl Hare, Chelsea Hing, Brahman Perera and Ritz Ghougassian’s Jean-Paul Ghougassian.

This year’s nominees for the Sustainability Award will be judged by our inaugural Sustainability judge – Breathe Architecture director and sustainability lead Bonnie Herring.

But you don’t have to win IDEA to be featured in print and online.

We’ll be featuring a selection of shortlisted projects and interviews with their designers in articles on ADR and in inside in the coming months, as well as publish them with details on the IDEA website.

GOLDEN’s Buff Nail Studio, Freadman White’s Napier Street and Breathe Architecture’s Edgars Creek house were just some of last year’s shortlisted featured on ADR.

Emerging Designer of the Year Esoteriko was profiled in an issue of inside magazine, while COX’s Tedesca was also featured.

The IDEA gala will be held at the end of November in Sydney.

On that night, we’ll announce all the winners for our architecture and interior design categories, as well our Emerging Designer of the Year, Overall Project Winner, Designer of the Year and Editor’s Medal winner.

We recently spoke to Jonathan Richards and Kirsten Stanisich to find out what winning IDEA has meant to them and their business, as well as get the scoop on where they displayed their trophy.

All the winning projects will be featured in a special edition of inside magazine in December and we’ll be sharing them across all our other publications and platforms.
