The wait to find out which projects have made the IDEA 2022 shortlist is almost over!

Thank you to everyone who entered IDEA 2022! Over the past two months, all submitted entries have been reviewed by the ADR editorial team to select a shortlist of entries for each category.

The preliminary judging process has now taken place, which sees our star-studded panel of judges score each shortlisted project using an online scoring system.

This Thursday 18 August, our seven jury members will meet in Brisbane to discuss the shortlisted projects and select a winner for each category.

They will also select the winners of the special awards – Emerging Designer of the Year, Designer of the Year and Overall Winner.

Over the next few weeks, we will reveal who made the shortlist for each category on ADR.

For a quick reminder the full list of IDEA categories is as follows:

  • Community Service
  • Colour
  • Event
  • Hospitality
  • Institutional
  • Object – Furniture and Lighting – Professional
  • Object – Furniture and Lighting – Rising

All shortlisted projects will be listed on ADR, each with a link to a dedicated page on the IDEA website where you can find more images and information about each one.

In the next stage of the 2022 IDEA awards, our judges – Eva Sue, Nina Maya, Yasmine Ghoniem, Alexander Lotersztain, William Smart, Pascale Gomes-McNabb and Sarah-Jane Pyke – will come together to select the winners for each category, as well this year’s Gold Medallist. BVN regenerative practice lead Valerie Saavedra Lux will also be overseeing IDEA’s Sustainability award.
