The winners of IDEA 2020 will be announced at The Timber Yard in Melbourne on 19 February 2021.

If you attended last year’s gala, you’ll be familiar with The Timber Yard. The 6000sqm property is a beautiful open space venue with plenty of room, indoor and out.

With almost 300 projects shortlisted for 14 categories, this year’s gala promises to be a night of good food, amazing live music, great company and the very best of Australian architecture and interior design.

Oh and did we forget to mention plenty of incredible drinks provided by Archie Rose gin distillery, Moo Brew beers and Seville Estate wines?

We’re particularly excited to see who takes home this year’s Designer of the Year, with industry heavyweights Flack Studio, Carter Williamson, Madeleine Blanchfield, Studio Bright, Biasol, COX and GOLDEN all vying for the night’s top prize.

This year’s Emerging Designer also promises to be a nail biter with Winter Architecture, OLSK, Ricci Bloch, Nina Maya, Noise Noise Noise, Esoteriko, Hammond Studio, Lawless & Meyerson and Adam Kane representing the very best up-and-comers in the industry.

We’ll also be revealing this year’s Gold Medal recipient on the night – our most prestigious award, given in recognition of those practitioners who have made an influential and enduring contribution to Australian design culture over the course of a career.

This year’s amazing panel of judges – (2019 Gold Medal winner) Andrew Parr, Alexander & CO’s Jeremy Bull, The Stella Collective’s Hana Hakim, Anna Spiro, Brendan Wong, Simone Haag and Rachel Luchetti – came together earlier this year to pick the winners, but the rest of us will have to wait until the night!

In 2019, we celebrated our IDEA winners with more than 600 guests with tickets selling out in just three weeks. This year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, places will be limited, so be quick to make sure you don’t miss out!
