The IDEA 2022 Object – Furniture and Lighting categories have been announced today with 28 professional and 10 rising projects shortlisted.

All shortlisted projects are listed below, each with a link to a dedicated page on the IDEA website where you can find more images and information about each project.

We’ll be announcing all the projects shortlisted in the different categories over the next few weeks.

Yesterday we shared the shortlisted projects in Institutional, Public Space and Event.

Shortlisted projects were selected by our editorial team. A further round of judging by our judges – Eva SueNina MayaYasmine GhoniemAlexander LotersztainWilliam SmartPascale Gomes-McNabb and Sarah-Jane Pyke – will determine the category winners, which will be announced in late November.

Object – Furniture and Lighting – Rising is one of our favourite categories. Free to enter, it showcases the brightest rising stars of Australian furniture and lighting design, while Object – Furniture and Lighting – Professional is always a wonderful opportunity to see the latest work from some of our best-known and established designers.
