IDEA 2020 shortlist to be announced next week

Share

Curious to see if your project made the IDEA 2020 shortlist? Well, you only have to wait a little longer. We’ll be revealing all this year’s shortlisted projects starting from 21 September!

Thanks again to everyone who entered IDEA 2020. As shortlisting, the first stage of the judging process, comes to an end, here’s what will happen next.

21 September – 2 October: Shortlists published

Starting on Monday 21 September, we’ll be publishing the shortlists for two categories daily over the course of two weeks.

With everything that’s happened in the past couple of months, we’re trying to bring the community together in lieu of the normal in-person celebrations we traditionally have for our IDEA 2020 shortlist.

So this year, we’re celebrating all our shortlisted projects with a series of videos that will include messages from our judges, past winners and amazing sponsors!

Head to Australian Design Review each day and watch the videos to see if your project has been shortlisted. And don’t forget to check out our social media channels and newsletter for exclusive content over the two weeks.

All our shortlisted projects will also be featured in the upcoming issue of inside magazine. Pick up your copy online or in newsstands from 24 September!

Judging

The second phase of the judging process has already started. It involves our star-studded panel of seven judges – Jeremy Bull, Hana Hakim, Anna Spiro, Brendan Wong, Simone Haag, Rachel Luchetti and Andrew Parr – judging each entry in each project category using an online scoring system.

Jury day

In previous years, our judges came together in person to convene and discuss the suggested project category winners and select the overall winners in the five special categories.

This year, jury day will still take place but the format may have to be different due to coronavirus. We will keep everyone updated about this and make an announcement closer to the time.

Winners announced

We recently shared a message about our IDEA gala, where we announced that we would wait until it was safe to host the ceremony in person. We’ll be sharing more details soon.
