Didier has added an open shelving unit to the extensive Fable family, which is available through Design Nation.

Launched in June at Denfair, the Fable shelving units are crafted from solid select oak with difficult manufacturing details disguised within a simplified aesthetic and return to the original principles.

Open shelving units are great for creating the illusion of more available space. A cumbersome unit with cupboard doors essentially blocks the line of vision, whereas a more delicate frame in a similar colouring to the wall should appear less jarring.

Sturdy, knock-down and self-assembly, the shelves have no screws, bolts or mechanical fixing devices.
