There are just 10 days left to get your project in front of some of Australia’s best designers and architects by entering IDEA 2022.
IDEA stands apart for its emphasis on Australian design and Australian designers. It’s the country’s oldest independent architecture and interior design award and distinguishes itself for its national focus.
For established studios, winning could solidify your status and bring recognition from peers and the wider community from Perth to Sydney, and Hobart to Darwin. For emerging studios, an IDEA award is a confirmation that you’re on the right track and a shot of confidence to keep pushing higher.

When does IDEA 2022 close?
Friday 10 June 2022 at midnight AEST.
Eligibility
Any project completed between 1 January 2021 and 30 June 2022 is eligible for this year’s awards, as long as it hasn’t been entered in IDEA previously.
Why enter IDEA?
IDEA is organised by Australian Design Review and inside, is Australia’s oldest architecture and interior design competition, and is judged by a panel consisting of the country’s leading figures.
An easy entry process
IDEA has a simple, streamlined entry process.
We’ll ask you to submit a short project description of maximum 50 words, a long project description of maximum 200 words and a final 200 words on how the project responded to the client brief.
After that, you’ll have to upload 10 gallery images, along with a spec sheet, plans and drawings… and that’s it!
Who are this year’s judges?
We are incredibly lucky to have a selection of Australian design trailblazers on our IDEA 2022 jury.
So far, we have announced three jury members, including interior designer Nina Maya, Perth-based principal and interior designer leader at Woods Bagot Eva Sue, and YSG director and IDEA 2021 Designer of the Year Yasmine Ghoniem.
Stay tuned as we announce more jury members on Australian Design Review!
