Buchan is heading into the month with three new appointments that add to the firm’s design and delivery excellence.

Lynn Van Dievoort, who will be based in the Brisbane office, has been appointed a senior associate at Buchan. Dievoort holds qualifications in architecture, urbanism and spatial design, and is known for employing a strategic focus in her management of concurrent projects across design and delivery.

She has work experience in Europe, and was involved in roles on the Gold Coast hospital and Coomera health precinct, BlueCare aged facilities and the Mackay regional sports precinct.

Carol Leung joins the Sydney studio as an associate on the interior design team. Leung’s particular passion is in determining how people experience space. She will focus on Buchan’s projects in leisure, entertainment, hotels and mixed-use developments.

She has led projects in South-East Asia and Australia, notably the Powerhouse Museum in Parramatta, the $65 million Star Western Precinct Upgrade and a luxury mixed-use development in Brisbane called Icon. She is equipped with high-level BIM skills.

My Thuat Ho is jumping on board the Sydney team as a senior project designer. Ho boasts extensive experience working in Australia and Vietnam on a varied range of building types and scales such as health, hospitality, mixed-use and multi-residential.

Her expertise lies in planning, design and documentation, and is acknowledged by peers as an excellent collaborator. Ho’s specific role in health at Buchan will be assisted by her experience in senior project coordination roles for Sydney children’s hospital, Westmead children’s hospital and North Shore Health Hub.

Buchan CEO Stephen Auld says the trio’s international experience will be beneficial to new and existing clients, and speaks to the company’s one-studio structure that sees resources assigned according to skill set and capacity, not geography.

“We welcome Lynn, Carol and My Thuat and look forward to their valued contribution – these appointments build the diversity of our team as we grow our health capability and expand in the sport, leisure and entertainment sectors,” says Auld.
