Tickets are now on sale for the SPARC International Lighting Event – Australia’s premier lighting event. SPARC features an educational seminar program alongside a cutting edge exhibition of global developments and future directions in lighting. Seminars by some of the world’s top lighting experts provide excellent opportunities for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for those in the design and architecture industries.

This year’s speakers present a different approach to lighting in design and architecture, on topics such as lighting and colour in the built environment and museum lighting. Expert speakers include prolific individuals such as Antony Di Mase of Di Mase Architects, Simm Steel of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Mark Elliot of PointOfView Design, and Roger Sexton of Xicato. The seminars are held across the three-day event, with tickets available for one or three days to make sure you can catch who you want to see.

“SPARC brings together not just what’s new in lighting design, but what’s new in ideas, technology and innovation. It equips participants with knowledge that can better their everyday practice,” says SPARC CEO Bryan Douglas.

“We have a mix of exciting events across all three days, so that whether you’re there for one evening only or for the entire event you’ll be able to experience what SPARC has to offer.”

A fast-paced Pecha Kucha evening event, where speakers present 20 slides for 20 seconds each, will take place on Thursday 28 May. An array of local designers, architects and lighting experts will guide the audience through their insights using this fun and innovative format. A Thursday Daily Displays ticket provides access to this event.

Wrapping up the event on Friday, inventor Mark Pesce will host the Speaker Panel Session, bringing past speakers back on stage for a Q&A session on all things lighting. This interactive session is the perfect opportunity to catch any speakers you may have missed or find the answers to your burning lighting questions.

SPARC 2015, which will be held at Sydney Exhibition Centre, Glebe Island, 27 to 29 May 2015, features a cutting edge exhibition from leading international and local lighting manufacturers and designers alongside the educational seminar. Once again SPARC aligns with Vivid Sydney – the southern hemisphere’s biggest annual celebration of light, music and ideas.

Tickets for SPARC 2015, including exhibition, seminars and the gala dinner, are available now and selling fast at www.sparcevent.org.
