A once down-at-heel Victorian house in Melbourne has been reinvigorated by a thoughtful and sensitive alteration and addition by Antony DiMase, principal of DiMase architects.

"The building has such a fantastic patina of age. Dishevelled layers of paint peel back to expose layers of building and decoration that date back to 1878. It would be wrong to clean all that up."
