For the second year in a row, Miele – a trusted brand synonymous with luxury and reliability – showcases its commitment to supporting the next generation of architects and innovators through its sponsorship of Australian Design Review’s 30UNDER30.
As an independent family-owned company since 1899, Miele offers superior craftsmanship and is world renowned for manufacturing premium domestic and professional appliances. The company prides itself on innovation and forward thinking, including its continuous efforts towards sustainable practices.
Australian Design Review (ADR) sat down with Miele leader of direct to customer, Ben Curmi, to discuss the company’s Gold sponsorship of ADR’s 30UNDER30 Architects and Innovators of the Built World.
Ben Curmi: Miele has always had a close alignment with the design industry and one we call on for inspiration and motivation but ensuring we are able to support the newest and brightest into the industry is also important so together we can make each other better.
Ben Curmi: It is and was really about an opportunity to support the upcoming stars of the industry, by being part of this wonderful program we were able to connect with them on a far more personal level.
Ben Curmi: This is an interesting question, of course our architectural clients may look at appliances in a different manner. Whether it’s an architect or an interior designer they are looking at appliances to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing so I hope in the end we meet both of their requirements.
Ben Curmi: I hope it gives them the exposure they need to create personal connections with key stakeholders within the industry that will help guide them into long and successful careers.
Ben Curmi: The opportunity for these participants with Miele is once they have formed relationships with our sales teams, not only can we provide all of the information they require on products, we have dedicated Miele only showrooms in Qld, NSW, VIC, SA & WA. They can not only see and touch our appliances but also participate in demonstrations so they understand what they may be specifying.
Ben Curmi: A stronger industry that is supported not only from a design perspective but also in all elements of business.
Ben Curmi: Do it, the program is here to support those that want it and hopefully allow you to become the best version of yourself and lead to an amazing career.
