It was announced this week that designEX, a main event for the local design industry for the last 27 years, would not be running next year. Diversified Communications made the difficult decision after identifying issues with its current format, and recognising a need for reinvention in order to maintain the sustainability of the event going forward.

Soren Norgaard, new Event Manager of designEX, says “I’d like to thank you all for your support of designEX and your understanding of this very difficult business decision”.

The local design and architecture community will be engaged to discuss possible new exciting formats and concepts for the future of the event. “We are proud of the role that designEX has played in the design industry over the past 27 years and although the exhibition will cease in its current format, we will be working with the design industry on how we can reimagine designEX over the coming months,” commented Norgaard.

In light of next year’s cancelled event, plans for how to reinvigorate designEX for the future have begun.
