The shortlists for the IDEA 2020 Public Space and Event categories are the first to be announced in this second and final week of reveals.

The shortlisted projects for each category are listed below in a dedicated video and featured on the IDEA website where you can find more images and information about each project.

Here are the shortlisted projects for the Public Space category:

This category is proudly support by Interstudio.

This category is open to any interior design projects funded by a public body and/or that are dedicated to public use.

Projects suitable for inclusion are foyers, malls, airports, transport centres, churches, temples, entertainment venues, reception/event venues, libraries, cinemas, theatres, concert halls, museums, galleries, community centres, retirement villages, boarding houses, law courts, law enforcement offices, parliamentary buildings, mortuaries, cemeteries and parks.

And here are the shortlisted projects for the Event category:

Pop-up shops, theatrical staging, exhibitions, marquees and other temporary installations-cum-event spaces are eligible for entry into this category.

While clever, readily demountable design is likely to dominate here, the manner in which it contributes to the experience of the event itself is of course absolutely key.

Browse all the shortlisted projects on the Public Space page and Event page. Congratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted.
