The shortlists for IDEA 2020 are being announced this week and next, starting today with the 11 projects shortlisted for the Residential Multi category.
The IDEA 2020 shortlist reveal kicks off with a message from our associate publisher + commercial manager for IDEA awards, inside magazine and Australian Design Review Jillian Hood and ADR editor Elisa Scarton together with the designers behind this year’s trophy, Axolotl.
And now, here are the 11 shortlisted projects for the Residential Multi category.
This category relates exclusively to designs for multi-unit residential complexes. Spatial planning and programming, and their relationship to the ‘look and feel’ of the design are critical. As are the qualities of modularity and economy of construction, and how the design contributes to the rationing and exploitation of space and the provision of amenity.
Absolutely essential to this is an understanding of how the design reflects its target market demographic.
Browse all the shortlisted projects on the Residential Multi shortlist page. Congratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted.
