Collingwood-based artist Rone completed a number of murals in the old Alphington Paper Mills in Melbourne, a building that has now been demolished. The works investigated themes of beauty and decay, and were secretly created in various abandoned houses and buildings around Melbourne and documented in a photographic print series.
Featuring more than 60 artists and designers from over 30 countries and free and exclusive to Melbourne, the triennial will include major presentations from international and Australian designers and artists, including Formafantasma, Brodie Niell, Yayoi Kusama and Estudio Campana.
"The atrium is my favourite part of the design. It really makes you feel like you're in one environment and I think for the students, it will help them feel an ownership of the space."
