Lapalma channels natural world in new outdoor collection

The Lapalma range has the natural world at its core and the ability to suit myriad applications.

Great design today holds sensitivity to the natural world around us, through deep respect and reverence for the environment as well as nature’s shapes, materials and colours.

This is the design ethos behind international brand Lapalma and its new outdoor furniture portfolio, with considered design processes favouring eco-friendly and sustainable manufacturing.

“The internal production plants are operated by using the electricity generated by our solar panels factory,” says Federico Cherubin, business developer, Asia-Pacific Lapalma, “an investment carried out to eliminate pollution from our manufacturing processes.

“For years we have implemented ‘lean’ production processes, which have allowed Lapalma to minimise waste, while increasing the quality of our products,” he adds.

These core values drive the design behind every piece in the Lapalma portfolio.

In a practical sense, “the products are designed for long life and are built with strong structures and high-quality materials,” says Cherubin. “The outdoor collections in steel use the highest grade of resistance to extreme weather conditions (i.e. Inox stainless steel Aisi 316L), suitable for marine applications.”

An instance of this in application is evident across the soft seating solutions ADD, ADD Soft, KIPU and PLUS, with removable upholstery that allows the product to rejuvenate even in high-traffic spaces.

One key pillar to the Lapalma outdoor range is PANCO, a collection of timber tables and benches – the very embodiment of the natural world in its simple and distinct styling. Reintroducing the combination of resistant steel and wood, PANCO manages to be both comfortable and robust, with matching benches that elegantly slide out of view underneath the table for a compact and streamlined look.

Other Lapalma products with an outdoor counterpart include a selection of tables in AUKI, BRIO, JEY and FORK to name a few, suited for contemporary spaces in workplace, hospitality and home environments. Each with a distinct profile and strong design language, these tables complement and elevate such environments through their flexibility and are available in an array of sizes and finishes.

The outdoor collection is not only made up of tables, but also seating, from lounging solutions to chairs and stools in the ARIA, LEM, MIUNN and SEELA ranges.

The disappearing borders in traditional working spaces reflects the rise in agile and remote working, highlighting the significance of the outdoors with great sensitivity to nature. In practice, furniture solutions then need to be adaptable and address the inherent work fluidity of people.

A collection of chairs and stools with various base and seat options, from rigid to height adjustable, the outdoor selection provides a multitude of solutions. The award-winning LEM features a family of swivel stools with measured and timeless elegance. MIUNN and SEELA, staple pieces to indoor working environments, have been redefined to be at home outdoors.

MIUNN’s embracing egg-shaped shell gently cradles the sitter and comes with an extensive range of base and seat options. SEELA similarly refines the contemporary classic seating shape with a versatile and light profile. The chair showcases the marriage between two extremely different materials, polypropylene and wood.

The flexible capabilities of Lapalma’s collection ensures that designers are able to find a variety of solutions to specify projects inside and out.

The Lapalma collection is available in Australia at Zenith Interior showrooms nationwide.
