Yesterday the DIA’s national president, James Harper, revealed the assignment of a new CEO for the institute. Taking the position is former CEO of VicUrban, Pru Sanderson, who is due to commence at the DIA from the 29th September 2014.
A self-titled ‘place-making professional’, Sanderson brings a wealth of experience within the Australian built environment industry to her new role. Apart from her time at VicUrban, Sanderson has spent time as CEO of Monash Property Management, while also being a current Director at Parks Victoria, an Associate of the Melbourne Sustainable Society Institute and Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration Australia.
Her career has involved senior positions with global engineering and architecture company GHD, as well as being engaged on a local level with Federation Square Management, the City of Melbourne and the Melbourne Museum.
The DIA is Australia’s leading professional membership group for the design industry, acting as a resource for designers and design practices. From its inception in 1947, the DIA has been run for designers, by designers. The institute has continued to strive for professional integrity and accreditation within the design industry across a range of creative disciplines, including industrial, graphic, interior, fashion and textile design.
