One day left to save $90 on your IDEA 2020 entry

Share

You have just over 24 hours to complete your IDEA 2020 entry and save $90.

Early bird entries close at midnight tomorrow, Thursday 30 April, so you still have one more day to get your entries in.

To help, we’ve designed the online entry form to be as simple as possible, and kept our entry fees low.

We’ve also introduced a new feature that allows you to start your entry, pay and come back and finish it later. That way, you can take advantage of the discounted early bird entry fee even if you don’t have final photography or other project details ready just yet.

IDEA is one of Australia’s oldest interior design and architecture awards, celebrating your incredible projects and the people behind them for 18 years.

Can I really complete my entry in 24 hours?

Yes! With our six steps, you can have your entry in before the deadline tomorrow, save $90 and get your work in front of our superstar industry judges all without losing any sleep.

Step one

Take a look at our categories to decide which one to enter. There are 14 categories spanning architecture, interiors and furniture and lighting design.

When filling out your entry, remember to tick the box if you’re an emerging designer or want to be considered for the special sustainability award.

Step two

Make sure your project is eligible. You can check the eligibility criteria in the conditions of entry page. Eligible projects must have been completed between 1 January 2019 and 28 May 2020.

You can enter your project into multiple categories!

Step three

Create an IDEA account to get started. If you’ve entered before, you can use your old account and password.

Step four

Carefully read our how-to-enter page and start writing your entry.

You’ll be asked to write a short project description of maximum 50 words, a long description of how you achieved excellence in your design outcomes of a maximum 200 words, and how you achieved your design brief in a maximum of 200 words.

If you’d like to be considered for the Emerging Designer and/or Sustainability awards, you’ll need to write a 200-word description for those too.

Step five

Upload the best photographs of your project or product. You can also upload plans and drawings, but don’t use renders, collages or computer-generated images.

Remember if you don’t have your photographs ready just yet, you can still enter and come back and add them later!

Step six

Submit your entry and pay. You made the deadline!

Longlists will be announced in May, shortlists will be published in September online and in print, and winners will be revealed in November with a special winners’ edition of inside on newsstands in December.
