Our latest competition comes to a close soon. Enter now for your chance to win one &Tradition Flowerpot Portable Table Lamp by Verner Panton valued at $375.
We’re teaming up with Cult for the giveaway, which celebrates the release of the portable version of this iconic mid-century lamp.
Danish designer Verner Panton penned the vividly coloured original in 1968 as an ode to the experimental attitude of the era.
At the time, the freewheeling Flower Power movement and the peace and love ideology of its followers dominated the European design aesthetic.
But the original Flowerpot lamp also captured Panton’s own design ethos.
The visionary was once quoted as saying: “Most people spend their lives living in dreary, grey-beige conformity, mortally afraid of using colours.”
Now, more than five decades later, fellow Danish design brand &Tradition has reimagined this iconic lamp as a portable piece suitable for indoor and outdoor use, and available exclusively in Australia from Cult.
Practical, while playful, functional, yet fun, &Tradition’s slightly smaller Flowerpot Portable (VP9) maintains the bright colours and individualistic attitude of Panton’s lamp.
Intended to work as a multifunctional piece, it’s deliberately lightweight and cordless, and features a dimmer that allows for three different light settings, designed to suit any mood.

The lamp is also available to buy online, where full product details can be found.
