Technē Architecture + Interior Design has announced the promotion of architect Sam Sempill to Associate.

Sempill has worked at Technē for the past 16 months and has 15 years’ industry experience under her belt. Her project work has spanned a variety of sectors including hospitality, residential, commercial and education.

“Sam is a great asset to our team and her promotion is a natural progression within the Technē business,” says Technē director Nick Travers. “Having been a restaurant operator and chef herself, Sam brings this valuable first-hand knowledge to the design of some of our hospitality projects.”

“Sempill’s interest in design extends beyond her role as a multi-disciplinary architect. She has a strong interest in textile design and construction along with visual arts which she weaves into her architectural design work at Technē.”

At Technē, she is currently working on the Amora Hotel redevelopment which is set to be completed at the end of 2019. The practice has been recognised for shaping the design of Melbourne’s top food and beverage destinations.

“My new position furthers my scope to exemplify the Technē philosophy of making considered and authentic spaces,” adds Sempill.

“I look forward to continuing to impart my broad-ranging design experience across a variety of exciting projects.”
