The Robin Boyd Foundation has teamed up with Creative Partnership Australia for a fundraiser dedicated to amplifying the voice of architecture and good design in Australia.

The Amplify Our Voice fundraiser is being launched to mark the release of After The Australian Ugliness – a collection of essays by authors from a range of disciplines exploring the character of Australia more than 60 years after the publication of Robin Boyd’s seminal title of the same name.

The not-for-profit foundation aims to raise $25,000 with the campaign, which opens on 6 May 2021, with matched dollar-for-dollar funding from Creative Partnership Australia.

Students who donate at least $75 and individuals who donate at least $100 will receive a copy of After The Australian Ugliness and a Friend of the Robin Boyd Foundation Membership.

Practices and studios who donate at least $1000 will receive 10 books and 10 memberships.

You can make a donation on Pozible from 5pm tomorrow 6 May until 6 June 2021.

Funds raised will go towards new educational and advocacy programs organised by the Robin Boyd Foundation in collaboration with professional bodies, government departments, universities, the community and individuals.

“We are calling on our community of designers, architects and enthusiasts to support the need for ongoing design advocacy in Australia,” says foundation chair Tony Isaacson.

“There is much to learn about the importance of design and its ability to influence broad areas of society, ecology and culture.

“Our mission is to continue Boyd’s legacy in embracing a sense of moral responsibility and professional capability to shape the future together, through design.”
