Australian furniture brand Satara offers a catalogue and a service that are effortless in equal measure.

Satara’s founders Andrew and Colleen Johnston have a passion for working hard to enjoy the good things in life. They’ve travelled around Australia and the world with their family, discovering amazing architecture, furniture, dècor, meeting new people and opening themselves up to new cultures.

They’ve bottled that holiday lifestyle in Satara, named after a cherished rest-camp in Kruger National Park, South Africa, that the couple fell in love with 22 years ago. Their business carries its name, symbolising their worldly style, passion for skilled craftsmanship, and expansive, honest collections of indoor and outdoor furniture, still designed with Australian conditions and preferences in mind.

A seamless service

When creating interiors that perform as well as they present, the choice of furniture supplier should feel like a strategic decision, not just a transaction. It’s not only about product, but also about partnership, responsiveness and shared outcomes.

Satara has supported architects, interior designers and commercial specifiers for more than 18 years. The company has helped deliver thoughtfully furnished spaces across residential, hospitality, workplace and lifestyle sectors, bringing the same level of design integrity and manufacturing quality into a coastal cafe as a penthouse apartment.

With a strong track record and a design-focused approach, Satara offers more than just a catalogue. The brand offers experience, reliability and a clear understanding of what professionals need from a supplier. The Johnstons and their team continue to work diligently behind the scenes to ensure interior designers and their clients can both sit back and relax.

Streamlining the specification process

To support client presentations and streamline the specification process, Satara operates five dedicated trade showrooms across Australia. These are working spaces designed to assist decision-making, including physical access to materials, comfort testing and product configuration support. They also offer a practical way to involve clients in the selection process, making approvals smoother and more collaborative.

Satara also understands the importance of lead times. With a wide selection of stocked pieces ready for immediate dispatch, many of its indoor and outdoor items can ship within two to three business days. Satara’s operations team provides dependable fulfilment so interior designers can keep their schedule on track and avoid unnecessary delays.

Satara Custom Program

Customisation is also one of Satara’s strengths.

Through the Satara Custom Program, the brand offers flexibility across key elements like timber stains, paint colours and upholstery selections. From dining chairs to bar stools, finishes and fabrics can be adjusted to suit any brief.
