For 19 years, The Rug Collection has helped Australia’s interior designers create beautifully layered interiors through handcrafted rugs. As the business grew beyond rugs into a curated furniture collection, the time came for a name that reflected its broader vision. Enter Tallira.
Founded by Simon Robinson, Yosi Tal and Eli Tal, the company’s new name carries a personal meaning. Inspired by the Tal family name and Robinson’s daughter, ‘Tallira‘ signifies a fusion of family heritage, creativity and evolution.
Tallira is the natural evolution of The Rug Collection. Staying true to the brand’s values of quality craft, diverse designs and contemporary colours, this next chapter sees the business grow its range of handmade rugs alongside a curated furniture collection, including pieces from Europe designed by Paul Rogers.

When the brand first started, it was in response to a market defined by safe choices. Its bold colour choices and confident range of patterns ignored the trends of the time, offering something unique in a sea of predictability. As interiors evolved towards quieter palettes and richly textured wool foundations, Tallira refined its collections to reflect the changing needs of designers, building a reputation for rugs that bring depth, texture and balance to a space without overpowering it.
Tallira’s latest collection returns to the brand’s founding principles, reintroducing colour and pattern in a measured, refined way. The new rugs balance expression and restraint, with designs that advocate for individuality.
Over the years, The Rug Collection’s offering has grown well beyond rugs. What began as a carefully curated furniture collection has become an integral part of the brand, reflecting Tallira’s broader vision for creating complete, beautifully layered interiors.

Defined by quality materials and thoughtful design, each furniture piece has been selected to complement Tallira’s rug collection and contribute to a complete interior vision. Together, the collections offer designers a cohesive palette of furniture and rugs united by craftsmanship, materiality and timeless design.
Natural materials such as wool, marble and wood feature throughout the collection, bringing depth, texture and timeless appeal to both rugs and furniture. Carefully considered materiality creates a versatile collection designed to complement a wide range of interior styles.
Whether through richly textured rugs or beautifully crafted furniture, every piece is designed to work in harmony, creating interiors that feel layered, inviting and made to last.

Highlights from the new collection include Dune, a plush rug that features a subtle pattern inspired by rippling sand dunes. The classic Magic rug is also available in colours ranging from Autumn to Nutmeg, along with a new range of Haven rugs which feature a modern, structural plaid pattern.
From the furniture range, a standout is the Luca Velvet Collection. And yes, it’s as sumptuous as it sounds. The Cobble sofa offers an inviting balance of sculptural form and exceptional comfort.

With stock held in a Melbourne warehouse and showrooms in Melbourne and Sydney, Tallira supports designers and homeowners across Australia. While this new era brings in a new name, the brand’s commitment to thoughtful design, strong wool foundations, evolving furniture collections, quality craftsmanship and dependable service remain, continuing their support of interior designers across Australia.
