Launched in May, the partnership sees Danish design brand GUBI appoint Cult as the exclusive vendor of the complete GUBI collection of furniture and lighting in three core markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

Australian furniture retailer Cult has distributed GUBI for over 10 years, both as a B2B supplier and B2C retailer.

Following a long and successful partnership over the last decade, this exclusivity appointment marks a significant milestone for Cult and GUBI.

The new partnership involves Cult as the exclusive vendor of the complete GUBI collection in all states and territories in Australia excluding the ACT and Victoria. Cult is also the exclusive B2B vendor in New Zealand and Singapore.

GUBI is a Danish design house renowned for its handpicked edit of high-quality furniture and lighting from all over the world, and collaborations with both esteemed designers and archives like Pierre Paulin and Greta Grossman, and contemporary talents including Space Copenhagen, GamFratesi and many others.

GUBI managing director Andrew Luke believes Cult Design has been “vital” in driving the Danish design house’s representation in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

“GUBI is committed to our relationship with Cult Design, and together we continue to take our brand to the design community,” says Luke.

GUBI’s first collection of outdoor furniture and lighting, ‘GUBI goes Al Fresco’ aims to break down the boundaries inside and out, venturing into the open air with a refreshing, new, all-encompassing and contextual take on outdoor design, adding new collections from archival and contemporary designers, as well as introducing outdoor versions of the existing indoor portfolio.

Cult founder and director Richard Munao says he is “thrilled” to see Cult’s relationship “strengthen further” with GUBI.

“GUBI is an outstanding global design brand. The quality of its products and competitive price structure, and the consistency and strength of new releases each year all contribute to its position as an industry leader.

“The new GUBI Al Fresco collection is a perfect example, which comprises six outdoor ranges covering dining, lounging and lighting categories. We look forward to samples arriving in June 2022 and working with the local trade network to see the Al Fresco collection specified into projects throughout the region.”
