Share

Good Design Australia and the Victorian Government have recently announced the finalists for this year’s Premier Design Awards. The Awards recognise and reward Victorian designers and businesses for using good and sustainable design, effectively.

It is estimated that in Victoria, over 195,000 people are employed in design-related roles, with the sector generating revenue of $7.3 billion per annum, including an estimated $204 million in design-related exports.

The awards provide an opportunity for businesses and the community to better understand the role of design in making products and services more functional, efficient and enticing, and increase the overall productivity and business outcomes.

All thirty-eight finalists are also in the running to receive the Best in Category and Premier’s Design Award of the Year. The awards will be presented during the Premier’s Design Awards Presentation Ceremony in Melbourne in September.

A panel headed by Victorian designer Ken Cato AO and comprising industry experts and professionals judged all the entries.

This year’s award categories include: Architectural Design; Communication Design; Design Strategy; Digital Design; Industrial and Product Design; and Service Design. For the complete list of entries and finalists, check out the Premier Awards website.
