A new collaboration between Jaime Hayon and Spanish company Expormim has resulted in a unique collection of furniture items, called FRAMES. The designs are on display at Ventura Lambrate during the ongoing Milan Furniture Fair.
The collection is inspired by Mediterranean designs from the sixties, when furniture was created to complete the attractive terraces of the Mediterranean, and its tourist explosion.
The new collection includes an armchair, a room divider and a side table. The chair is available in different wicker mesh options with an optional cushion. It comes with rattan or steel legs. The side table is available in two different dimensions and the room divider comes with a dense wicker mesh in the trademark Expormim colours.
Rattan is a relatively unique furniture material, as it does not require any additional components to function. While the traditional use of rattan includes multiple diameters and links, Hayon’s new design has simplified and organised the structures.
The pieces are designed to offer a rustic Mediterranean charm to any place or setting.
