There are just 10 days left to get your project in front of some of Australia’s best architects and interior designers by entering IDEA 2021.
IDEA stands apart for its emphasis on Australian design and Australian designers. It’s the country’s oldest independent architecture and interior design awards and distinguishes itself for its national focus.
For established studios, winning could solidify your status and bring recognition from peers and the wider community from Perth to Sydney, Hobart to Darwin. For emerging studios, an IDEA award is confirmation that you’re on the right track and a shot of confidence to keep pushing higher.
New categories for 2021
In 2021, we’ve redefined one of our categories and launched an entirely new one to better reflect the changes the Australian architecture and interior design industry has experienced in the past 12 months.
Residential Interior Curation (formerly Residential Decoration)
We’ve redefined the Residential Decoration category to better reflect the work interior designers do on projects for which they had no architectural input.
Similar to the way in which a gallery curator designs their exhibition to best accentuate the installation and provide a seamless user experience, so too does the interior designer work to ensure their spaces celebrate the interior architecture and bring joy to the clients who inhabit them daily.
That’s why we’re relaunching this category as Residential – Interior Curation. Read the updated category description to find out more!
New Community Services category
Our new Community Services category is for projects that have been completed pro-bono or at a reduced fee over the last three years, and recognises the work architects and designers do to give back to their community.
Extended entry eligibility
We know that 2020 was tough, so this year, we’ve extended the entry period for eligible projects.
Projects completed between January 2020 and June 2021 are eligible for entry into IDEA 2021 as long as they haven’t been entered in previous years.
10 days left to enter
Remember, the entry deadline is midnight AEST on 11 June, so start your entry now.
