Beloved Mark Robinson passed away aged 44 on 22 December 2022. A memorial was held today in Melbourne celebrating his amazing life, followed by a wake.

The devastating news of Robinson’s passing was shared by David Flack on Flack Studio’s Instagram on 30 December.

“His legacy and spirit will remain forever. 

“Mark created opportunities for people to share our studio and be part of our world at Flack Studio. All of this will continue. He will be there in spirit. 

“I admired Mark’s passion for activism and his commitment to creating a legacy. 

“He was devoted to challenging the status quo and to giving back,” shared Flack.

“Memories and stories were created. I will hold them tight. He will remain a part of each of the spaces we created. 

“Mark has touched so many lives.”

Robinson did indeed leave an indelible mark on each and everyone who had the privilege to know him personally.

During his memorial, which was attended by hundreds of friends, family and colleagues, live and online, many shared how full of love, light and talent Robinson was throughout his life.

Yasmine Ghoniem of YSG Studio also shared a heartbreaking farewell to her long-time friend.

“2023 without you. Well. Is still hard to comprehend. 

“That ‘thing’ in my throat, still very much there. My heart a bloody mess. ​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ 

“Over the last week, I have recounted a million times, your cheeky smile, your unfailing advice, our ‘80s transformational movie binges, McDonald runs, business mentorship and your bloody teasing (god you were mean sometimes) and my absolute favourite. Walks and talks, arm in arm. ​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​ 

“Rest in peace my beautiful Mark.” ​​​​​​​​ ​​​​​​​​
