IDEA is Australia’s premier interior design and architecture award. Since 2003, we’ve been celebrating the very best in Australian architecture and interior design with an evening of great food, wine, company and healthy competition between the country’s best practices and studios as they vie for the coveted IDEA trophy.

As for the awards themselves, they remain a celebration of the projects and people who have made a name for themselves in the industry in 2022.

The winners of this year’s program will be announced in person at our Gala on Thursday 24 November 2022 at The Timber Yard in Melbourne.

The winners were chosen by an esteemed panel of design industry professionals, and this year’s crop of shortlisted entries represents a diverse cross-section of the design community with emerging designers featuring alongside the country’s most respected and recognised architecture and design practices.

We’ll also be announcing the Project of the Year, Emerging Designer of the Year and Designer of the Year – a fierce contest between Bates Smart, Luchetti Krelle, Hassell, Simone Haag, Russell & George, and Flack Studio.
