Australia’s cooperative advocating and supporting small, medium and emerging practices, ArchiTeam, has opened the entries for its 2026 awards program.

Now in its 19th year, the ArchiTeam Awards continue to celebrate the creativity, innovation and impact of architects working in small practice across Australia. The Awards recognise projects of every scale that demonstrate outstanding design, technical excellence and meaningful contributions to the built environment and the communities they serve.

A highlight of the 2026 program is the introduction of the Early Career Award – a new category created to recognise emerging architects who are making an outstanding contribution to the profession in the early years of their careers. The award celebrates leadership, innovation, professional excellence and the exciting future of small practice architecture.

Entries opened on Monday 13 July 2026 and close at 5pm, Monday 31 August 2026. ArchiTeam Awards Director Jean Graham of Winter Architecture says the Awards continue to showcase the extraordinary depth of talent within Australia’s small practice sector.

“For almost two decades, the ArchiTeam Awards have celebrated the architects who are shaping our cities, towns and communities through thoughtful, innovative and highly personal design. Small practices consistently demonstrate that great architecture isn’t defined by the size of a project or a practice, but by the quality of ideas and the positive impact they create,” says Graham.

“We’re especially excited to introduce the Early Career Award in 2026. Supporting emerging architects has always been central to ArchiTeam’s purpose, and this new category recognises the exceptional talent, leadership and fresh perspectives that are driving the future of our profession. We encourage architects from across Australia to share their work and be recognised alongside the country’s best small practice architects.”

Winning or being shortlisted in the ArchiTeam Awards provides architects with valuable industry recognition, raises the profile of their practice, and showcases their work to peers, clients and the broader public.

Architects from small practices across Australia are encouraged to enter and be part of one of the country’s most respected celebrations of small practice architecture.
