GroupGSA heralds a new phase of growth nation-wide

Simone Carter and Sue DesBrosses are set to reign in a new era of growth and development at GroupGSA in the Melbourne and Brisbane studios, respectively. 

Carter has been appointed as the associate director of interior design in GroupGSA’s Melbourne office, whereas DesBrosses will oversee the Brisbane office in the same position.

GroupGSA employs more than 230 design experts from four studios in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Ho Chi Minh City. The firm prides itself on providing multi-disciplinary design services in living environments, workplace and commercial, education, cities and places, culture and hospitality. 

Director Lisa Maree Carrigan expressed her confidence in both Carter and DesBrosses strengthening the firm’s collective creativity and capabilities. 

“Both Carter and DesBrosses bring a wealth of experience to our interior design team – further enhancing our commitment to diversity of thought,” says Carrigan. 

Throughout Carter’s 25-year career in interior design, she has developed a keen interest in GroupGSA’s multidisciplinary approach, commendable support network and design innovation. She has worked in the United Kingdom, the Middle East, China and Australia, however, is thrilled to jump on board GroupGSA at a turning point in the firm’s history.

“I am particularly looking forward to encouraging the Melbourne team to push the design boundaries and approach every project through a different lens,” says Carter. 

DesBrosses has tallied up over 20 years of commercial design experience, spending the past five years working on projects in Asia. She is now embracing the opportunity to positively influence and shape GroupGSA’s Brisbane studio, particularly in anticipation of the city’s 2032 Olympic Games. 

The firm has also hired Alice Were as a senior interior designer for the Melbourne studio, alongside Clare O’Brien as the Sydney studio’s landscape architect. Marina Amado is also joining the Brisbane team in the position of a graduate interior designer.
