From multi-storey ultra modern homes to remote desert clinics, the impressive shortlist for this year’s ArchiTeam Awards has been released!
The ArchiTeam Awards are an opportunity for some of the country’s smaller practices to showcase their designs to the industry and the curious general public, with many of the projects coming from practices that are often overlooked by the larger award juries.
Of the 140 entries, 24 projects were selected as finalists for 6 categories, including the newly added Emerging Architect award, which will go to an up-and-comer who is excelling in architecture, recognising excellence in their overall body of work with no restriction of scale, program, budget or location.
Established architects will also be recognised in the Contribution Award, which looks beyond the design and production of buildings to blogs, publications, organised tours or broadcasts that contribute to the industry discourse. This year’s finalists are Architecture and Alterity by Anthony Clarke and the EBD Journal by EBD Architects.
The shortlisted names will be celebrated in spectacular fashion with each entry’s floorplan projected at 1:1 scale on the floor as their project images are beamed around the ArchiTeam’s warehouse space in North Melbourne before the winners are announced on 13 November.
Here are some of the stand-out new homes, commercial and community projects and residential alterations and additions that made the shortlist.
