Shaw Contract believes sustainability encompasses not only the environmental health of its products and operation but also how its products impact human experiences.

Composed of bio-based polyurethane, Innate + In Tandem places performance and sustainability first and draw on the complex beauty and durable properties of natural materials.

The collection of sheet and tile products effortlessly blend the warm wooden visuals of “In Tandem” with the delicate mineral tones of “Innate” to forge a soothing palette. Both visuals are available as sheet and tile with a matching 2.5mm thickness to allow for seamless transitions between spaces.

PCV-Free

With a focus on quality materials translating to a better quality of life, Shaw Contract manufactures with canola, castor and rapeseed oils. All rapidly renewable, this construction features commonly occurring bio-based materials that are free of ortho-phthalates, chlorine and solvents.

The sustainable nature, versatile installation and ease of maintenance allow for optimal performance in the demanding environments of healthcare, workplace, education, retail and hospitality.

In all environments, cleanability has a direct relationship to the perception of how a space can impact health. Unlike other products, Innate + In Tandem can be cleaned with a five per cent bleach solution and works with most cleaning solutions and disinfectants.

Cradle to Cradle

Shaw Contract believes in the power of responsible design to optimise human environments and is committed to assessing its materials to know as much about its product materiality, care and end-of-use, and to seek third-party certification.

With this in mind, Shaw Contract has been actively engaged in Cradle to Cradle design for more than 20 years, introducing the first Cradle to Cradle Certified™ flooring product in 1999.

Today, nearly 90 per cent of products Shaw Contract manufacture are Cradle to Cradle Certified® and it is Shaw Contract’s goal for all its products Cradle to Cradle Certified by 2030. The Innate + In Tandem collection are Cradle to Cradle Certified® Silver.

Featured locally in Australia, Shaw’s collection can be seen in St Clare’s Primary School by ROAM Architects.

The Melbourne-based design studio showcased the versatility and durability of Innate products and was also entered in the annual Shaw Contract Design Awards program for 2021.

With more than 700 entries from 37 countries, the Design Awards saw Woods Bagot take out the top prize for a Perth office fit-out.
