The office. A place aimed to encourage creativity and inspire the workers it houses is often overlooked when it comes to design, with the average workplace easily described as dull and uninspiring.

We Are Huntly, a Melbourne-based design studio, has managed to create a working environment that not only reflects the company it represents, but ignites inspiration and encourages creativity for workers. Located within an urban warehouse in Melbourne’s Southbank is the first east coast office of Perth-based market research firm Metrix Consulting. Retaining the Heritage façade and exposed beam ceiling sets a playful tone for this office and is carried through to the interior, combining an industrial look with colourful contemporary pieces.

By using whitewashed brick walls and dark hardwood to create a backdrop, an eclectic mix of modern office furniture is housed within the renovated open plan warehouse. Industrial storage and decorative pieces complement the original features of the building like timber framing, encouraging a warm, energetic and inclusive team environment.

Vintage mobile office storage units in organic tones reflect the colourful branding of the Metrix brand.

Designated meeting and relaxation zones combine playful  industrial and mid-century elements seamlessly while retaining an air of professionalism suitable for the workplace and prospective clients. A fresh take on the nine to five.
