Continuing the brand’s active involvement with all fields of design, COS have collaborated with local design pair Daniel Emma to create a three part installation inspired by the timeless COS white shirt.

Called “Hanging Out”, Daniel Emma’s installation focuses on the relationship between materials, colour, form and proportion. The work features in the COS Martin Place and Westfield Bondi Junction in Sydney and Melbourne stores.

In conceptualising the installation, Daniel To and Emma Aiston examined the various household items used around the classic white shirt. A statement from the designers explains, ‘in the Australian winter often our house is strewn with miscellaneous objects that we use to hang clothing out to dry. It is one of the only times we have our shirts on display at home rather than in a wardrobe. This installation is our version of this everyday scene’.

COS has drawn inspiration from the world of art and design since the inception of the brand. The brand is privileged to have partnered with both well-known and up-and-coming artists, architects, galleries and art fairs from around the world. Of this collaboration, COS’ Creative Director, Karin Gustafsson, says, “We welcomed the chance to collaborate with Daniel and Emma and are happy and honoured to be supporting local Australian designers, who we believe to be like minded with shared values. We hope that our customers enjoy these installations.’’
