The most significant design event in the ACT, ‘DESIGN Canberra’ has just opened up expressions of interest from diverse creatives for its 2015 festival.

Set to take place 21 – 29 November, DESIGN Canberra aims to create new links and collaborations between traditional creative practitioners like designers, artists and architects in order to connect them to other similar practitioners, institutions or businesses at both local and national levels.

Entries are open to a wide scope of creative professionals, from entrepreneurs to galleries, businesses, cultural institutions, educators, students artists and designers. Last year, the festival stimulated conversations around art and design, brought empty shop fronts to life and staged events in locations such as the National Museum of Australia and Nishi Gallery. It was attended by 24,000 and represented 460 participants.

Avi Amesbury, DESIGN Canberra Creative Director and Craft ACT: Craft + Design Centre Executive Director says, “We see DESIGN Canberra as a platform for excellence and innovation in design across all sectors. It is a forum for unique design partnerships, projects and collaborations; a collective platform for Canberra’s creative communities.”
