The shortlist has been revealed for the 2017 Australian Institute of Architects' National Architecture Awards. The competition this year received a record 983 entries across 14 categories, making it the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
"Often it's the little detail here or concept there; that cool idea you got the client to agree to, that component or part of the programme that brings a sense of play, something that makes you stop and say, 'Cool'."
