Australian cladding solutions company HVG Facades has announced its Nucleo® product has officially received two Global GreenTag Certifications, a significant milestone in the world of sustainable and health-conscious building solutions.
Nucleo®, a precision-engineered aluminium bonded panel notable for its application in sleek facades, has achieved a Global GreenTagCert™ PHD™ (Product Health Declaration), which rated the product with a PlatinumHEALTH™ HealthRATE™ certification outcome. In addition, it has also achieved a GreenRate Level A certification, the highest level to be attained in the Global GreenTag GreenRate program.
These prestigious accreditations reflect HVG Facades’s focus on advancing both environmentally and health-conscious practices in the construction industry.
Global GreenTag is a widely recognised ecolabel from independent certification body, Global GreenTag International.
Its Product Health Declaration pushes for transparency in the disclosure of chemical hazards in products used in workplaces and homes. Global GreenTag International CEO David Baggs says a GreenTag PHD™ essentially pushes the boundaries of product health certification to address human health concerns directly.
“It is the first system globally to assess the health impacts of the final product and not just the hazards of the ingredients,” he says.
A Platinum HealthRATE™ designation through the PHD™ program is a top-tier recognition that confirms a product is safe for use, with no significant toxicity concerns. Nucleo® underwent an extensive assessment of its impact on human health to achieve its certification.
The assessment was not about achieving a pass or fail. Instead, the processes involved an in-depth, scientific and peer-reviewed evaluation by Global GreenTag to measure the health, safety and environmental implications of Nucleo®.
With Global GreenTag certifications for Nucleo®, HVG Facades reinforces its position as a leader in sustainable building materials. Its solid aluminium panel, Mondoclad®, carries the same Global GreenTag PHD™ and PlatinumHEALTH™ HealthRATE™ certifications.
Recognised with a GreenRate Level A certification, Mondoclad® is deemed safe for use with no significant toxicity concerns.
According to HVG, this is just the beginning as it aspires to Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certifications for Nucleo®. The company is excited to continue driving innovation in Australian architecture while aligning with global sustainability standards.
