Architecture and design practice Architectus has appointed Alan J Duffy to the growing leadership team as principal.

Duffy, who will be based out of the practice’s Sydney studio, brings expertise in the design of education and learning projects. In addition to the education sector, he has cultivated his design and leadership skills over two decades in the international commercial, residential and health sectors.

Recent notable Australian University projects include the Western Sydney University Liverpool City Campus, the University of Sydney Business School and Macquarie University Student Experience (MUSE) project.

An innovator in educational design and thought leadership, Duffy says he is thrilled about his new role, working with a diverse and talented team across the Australian region.

“Architectus is a leading design practice and I’m delighted to join the team in an exciting phase of architectural growth, particularly for science and education. I look forward to our current projects being realised and creating new and provocative Architecture through our collaborative approach, that promotes Australian design at the global level.”

Architectus managing director Ray Brown adds: “Alan is known for his leadership in education design, having held roles overseeing national education projects. His appointment strengthens our ability to deliver state-of-the-art design strategies for all our clients.”

Architectus continues to build momentum in the education sector following the completion of, the University of Sydney Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) and the Victorian Growth Areas School Project (GASP).
