Wardle promotes three new associates, John McAslan + Partners bolsters its international transport team, while new leaders steer studios in fresh directions in this month’s round up of industry appointments.
Earlier this month, Wardle celebrated the appointments of three team members to associates across its Sydney and Melbourne teams.
Described as an accomplished all-rounder, Nicola Bowman has been managing projects including Belerren and The Geelong College Gym since she joined Wardle in Melbourne, and now in Sydney with Bourke & Bowden.
Wardle recognised Tom Proctor for his contributions to projects in China, Sydney and Melbourne, calling him “a driving force” behind recent efforts to apply digital design tools practice-wide.
Meanwhile, fellow associate Mitch Walker has been labelled a “natural” project leader who energises his team to achieve outstanding results.
At the same time, Wardle also announced that Will Rogers will step into the role of senior technical design leader.
John McAslan + Partners has appointed Andrew Shields as a director, bolstering the practice’s international transport team as it delivers infrastructure projects around the globe.
Shields will be located in the Sydney studio, bringing his extensive experience in rail to the practice’s Australian transport work.
He is joined in Sydney by Davie Paterson, who comes from Deloitte’s Responsible Business division and has been appointed to the newly created role of project manager.
In Perth, Australian property and construction company Statuo Group and Milieu Creative, a contemporary architecture and design studio, announced the appointment of Mike Harvey as the company’s group general manager.
Operating as one holistic team, Milieu Creative and Statuo Group are underpinned by a group of interdisciplinary design, development and construction specialists. Harvey will now lead Statuo Group and Milieu Creative’s portfolio, extending the services of Milieu Creative to deliver a more holistic approach.
Harvey’s appointment builds on recent senior additions to the Statuo team, including the appointment of Natasha Haden as construction manager.
Plus Architecture has promoted Matt Harrison from senior project lead to associate, a role that will see him working on the international practice’s technical documentation offering.
“Since joining us, Matt’s transparent communication has continued to foster enduring partnerships and has ensured outstanding outcomes across all sectors and scales,” Plus wrote on a LinkedIn post announcing the appointment.
Over in Fyshwick in the Australian Capital Territory, Tynan Freeman has been promoted to the role of associate director at Stewart Architecture.
Having been part of the practice for 12 years, Freeman has helped establish the design language of the studio and is focused on upholding its design-led values, the studio said in its announcement.
“With his discerning and thoughtful design eye, Tynan has shown strong leadership on significant projects.”
The practice has also appointed Juliana Zubovic to associate, leading large precinct-scale projects.
“She is always calm, considered and with a sense of humour – contributing to our optimistic and warm studio culture. Her professionalism and diligence has led to her promotion in our studio,” the studio announcement said.
South Australian architecture and interior design firm Matthews Architects has welcomed new designer and project leader Karin Wouters to its team.
With more than 10 years’ experience in the industry in Australia and internationally, Wouters has delivered complex large projects across medical, education, hospitality, residential and social housing.
