An evening of texture and style

The atmosphere was electric as guests mingled amid a backdrop of exquisite design. The collaboration was a natural fit, showcasing the powerful synergy between beautifully handknotted rugs and elegant timber flooring. With curated music setting the tone and delicious food being served, the showroom buzzed with conversation and excitement.

The event was more than just a launch; it was a celebration of a shared passion for quality, creativity and innovative design. It provided a unique opportunity for attendees to see, touch and experience how these two distinct collections can work in harmony to create cohesive and sophisticated interiors.

Introducing the Cruda collection

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Cruda collection, Greg Natale’s seventh collaboration with Designer Rugs. True to its name – Italian for ‘raw’ – the collection draws inspiration from the bold aesthetics of brutalism and the clean lines of modernist architecture. Natale shared his creative process with attendees, explaining how he translated these architectural concepts into expressive, tactile floor coverings.

The Cruda collection features six unique handknotted rug designs, each showcasing a blend of strong geometric forms, rich tonal palettes and intricate textures. Crafted from Tibetan wool, the rugs possess a sculptural quality that brings warmth and depth to any space.

Guests were able to appreciate the artistry and detail that went into each piece, understanding how they serve as both a foundation and a focal point in contemporary design. This seventh collection is a testament to the enduring and successful partnership between Designer Rugs and Greg Natale.

Unveiling the Bosco flooring collection

Complementing the softness and texture of the Cruda rugs was the Bosco collection, designed by Natale for Tongue & Groove. Bosco, which means ‘forest’ in Italian, explores the natural beauty and grain of wood through a sophisticated lens. Natale spoke about his vision for the collection, emphasising how the various patterns and finishes can be used to add character and elegance to interiors.

The combination of the Cruda rugs and Bosco created a visually stunning display. It demonstrated how different materials, when thoughtfully designed, can enhance one another. The interplay between the raw, textural quality of the rugs and the smooth, refined finish of the timber flooring was a masterclass in modern design, inspiring everyone in attendance.

A celebration of collaboration

The event was a resounding success, marking a memorable night for all involved. It underscored the importance of collaboration in the design community and celebrated the creative vision of one of Australia’s leading designers.
