Aleesha Callahan talks with Raymond Cheah, director of development company UEM Sunrise, to discuss Zaha Hadid Architects' (ZHA) Mayfair tower.
"Melbourne will now have a piece of her artistic flair," says Acting Minister for Planning Jill Hennessy. The late architect's 54-storey Collins Street tower has gained approval from the Andrews Labor Government.
The building is the result of an international competition held in 2007 and is Zaha Hadid Architects’s first building in Hong Kong – coming thirty years after Hadid’s famous competition design for the Hong Kong Peak Leisure Club in 1983.
