Collingwood-based artist Rone completed a number of murals in the old Alphington Paper Mills in Melbourne, a building that has now been demolished. The works investigated themes of beauty and decay, and were secretly created in various abandoned houses and buildings around Melbourne and documented in a photographic print series.
Privately commissioned artworks have a long history in architecture and today we are seeing a fresh appetite for wall-work with a more personal touch.
The new installation will pay homage to the historic and contemporary architecture of Germany, blending modern art and culture with the love of street art that has inspired both Germany and Australia.
