People’s Choice voting is now open for the 2017 Shaw Contract Design Awards. You can vote for your favourite project to help showcase Australian Design on the global stage.
The Shaw Contract Design Awards recognise the vision and tenacity behind momentous design work internationally and commemorate the inspiration behind every project. This year the Design Awards had a total of 497 entries from 32 countries, which highlights the global scope of the program.
Market Award entries were assessed by a panel of independent judges from six countries, including our own Mel Mackenzie from TKD Architects. Thirty-six Market Award-winning projects were selected from the entry pool, which showcases the highest calibre of work within an industry segment across the globe.
These Market Award winners will now proceed to Global Award judging by a second international panel and are also open for People’s Choice voting. Each Global Award winning firm will be promoted in Shaw Contract marketing materials globally and featured in an advertising campaign with leading architecture and design publications.
In 2017, two representatives from each Global Award winning firm (including the People’s Choice winner) will also be invited as guests of Shaw Contract to experience Art Basel in Miami. This all-inclusive design journey features business class airfares, stunning accommodation, networking with international designers, and other extraordinary experiences. Finally, the 2017 Global Award winning firms will receive a $2,000 charitable donation to be awarded in their firm’s name to an organisation of their choice.
