Shaw Contract’s EcoWorx carpet tiles are now 100% carbon neutral

Share

Shaw Contract has announced all EcoWorx carpet tile products sold in Australia and New Zealand are now 100 percent carbon neutral.

On average, people spend almost 90 percent of their time indoors. With this in mind, Shaw Contract is working to ensure the time we spend working, playing, healing and learning in the built environment is spent on flooring that has been responsibly manufactured for the best human experience.

This commitment to responsible manufacturing has been cemented by the news that every EcoWorx Carpet Tile sold in Australia and New Zealand has been 100 per cent offset and 3rd party certified by SCS Global Services – a pioneer and leader in the field of sustainability standards and third-party certification.

When Shaw Contract introduced their EcoWorx carpet tile backing in 1999, it set a new standard for carpet tile performance in the industry. EcoWorx uses 40 percent less energy in production than traditional carpet tile and has Cradle to Cradle Certification™ at the Silver Level.

By choosing EcoWorx® carpet tile products in Australia or New Zealand, you will receive your own certificate verifying the independent assessment for Carbon Neutrality.

But carbon neutrality is only one small part of Shaw Contract’s sustainability story.

Its EcoWorx tile was the industry’s first 100 percent PVC-free carpet tile backing and comes with an environmental guarantee for free reclamation and recycling

All of its commercial carpet operations internationally are also carbon neutral, including its extensive global manufacturing facilities and showrooms.
