New apartment builds are increasingly taking sustainability and protection from the sun, as integral to the building design. This holds true, even in the leafy inner suburbs of Melbourne.
Camberwell apartments, designed by DP Toscano, chose Locker Group’s woven wire ‘Planar 441’, to shade the building on two levels.
The powder coated aluminium wire mesh provides a sophisticated textural element to the façade. The woven mesh shading is operable on both levels, allowing occupants to adjust the shading elements as the seasons, or their desires, change.
Even when completely closed the wire mesh provides a dappled light into the internal space, while allowing unobstructed vision of the external environment.
