Brisbane-based furniture product design studio, Nooko & Co, have recently launched three new collections – Wedge, Tube and Fold. The collections feature a combination of solid oak hardwood, sleek metal components and innovative joinery techniques.
The studio, founded by design duo Rhys Thomas and Kristie Lahey, will make its official debut at the Decor + Design show in July this year.
The Wedge collection features a unique connection system developed by the studio that makes assembly and disassembly simple. The new solid oak timber Wedge stool has been designed in a way that allows it to be shipped flat and can be assembled with simply an Allen screw.
“We wanted to rethink flat-pack design and create a product that was sustainable, thoughtfully designed, and utilised high quality materials and Australian craftsmanship,” said Thomas. “We hope to expand this collection to include tables, bench seats, stackable cafe stools and more.”
The Tube collection is made using solid oak timber and a unique metal tube connection system. The designs are simple and modern to suit any space. The Fold collection features a pressed metal bracket that connects the solid oak timber legs and top with understated detailing. The collection includes functional and bespoke products to suit any home.
The studio is currently developing a lighting range, which will feature its latest Co-Depend lamp. The Co-Depend collection will explore the relationship between two separate components that are dependent upon one another to form a new functional object.
