A new brick collection is drawing on the fine quality and craft traditions of Italy’s famous Murano glass-making techniques and transforming them into a crystal-clear glass brick.

Created by Austral Bricks, the Poesia collection’s solid glass construction allows architects and designers to use the bricks to create light-filled interiors, gallery spaces and transparent volumes that flow and interconnect.

The collection offers three finishes – natural, polished and frosted – and five colourways, including Arctic Crystal, Aqua Marine, Blue Sapphire, Golden Amber and Smokey Quartz.

The solid glass construction of the collection means the bricks can be used internally or externally, while still providing consistent thermal shock resistance.

“With the Poesia collection, we’ve captured that creative spirit and finely honed technique to produce a faultless glass brick that will allow Australian designers to bring their most innovative, light-filled designs to life.”

To develop the collection, engineers perfected the design over a number of years, to ensure it offered the crispness and purity of glass with the durability of brick construction. The bricks are available in a standard format of 230 mm x 110 mm x 76 mm.
