Australia’s longest running furniture design competition, VIVID (Vibrant Visions in Design) has opened its doors, and applications are now open to new and emerging designers as part of the 2015 Décor + Design exhibition.

Professional designers with less than five years of experience and current students are encouraged to enter as part of VIVID’s thirteenth year, having exhibited over 650 designers in its time and over 1,000 products.

VIVID has played a strong role in helping fledgling designers promote their talent, with previous winners including Marc Pascal, Ross Gardam and Ash Allen, to name a few.

“Last year saw a high calibre of entrants,” says Caroline Caneva, curator of the VIVID program. “This year’s finalists will be our most impressive showcase of design talent yet. An international line up of high profile judges will be announced shortly as well as the prizes which include prize money and other converted opportunities.”

Décor + Design, held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, will run from 16-19 July this year. Applications for designers end on 3 April. Visit Décor + Design for more information.
