Tickets are now on sale for the 2014 Semi-Permanent fest – a creative platform to showcase art, design and creativity. It consists of a conference and other side events, including exhibitions, competitions, workshops and parties.
The week-long event highlights some of the most creative international works in graphic design, film, art, illustration, web design, photography, visual effects, animation, graffiti, motion graphics and stop motion.
The 2014 Sydney line-up of speakers will include: skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, who will discuss the building of the Hawk brand with former Australian skateboarding champion, Corbin Harris; and controversial artist Mr Brainwash, who will discuss his relationship with Banksy and how he has progressed as an artist since the Exit Through the Gift Shop documentary. Joining the talk will be other eminent creatives from around the world.
“Semi-Permanent’s speakers have always been highly inspiring and talented, and in 2014 we are pushing this to a new level,” said Semi-Permanent director, Andrew Johnstone.
Semi-Permanent acts as the opening event of the annual Vivid Festival. This year’s events include presentations, exhibitions, installations, screenings and workshops.
“A highlight of the Vivid Ideas program in 2013, Semi-Permanent this year takes place exclusively as part of Vivid Sydney, meaning it’s the only chance creative practitioners will have to experience this event in Australia,” Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment, Andrew Stoner said.
